As we bid farewell to the year 2023, SpecialEurasia reflects with pride upon a year marked by significant strides in our mission to provide insightful analyses and reports on the Eurasian strategic chessboard.

Throughout the past year, we have expanded our reach both domestically and internationally, leaving an indelible mark on public opinion. Media agencies and think tanks have recognised the exceptional quality of our analyses and monitoring reports, highlighting the depth and standard of our assessments.
SpecialEurasia Monitoring & Analysis Activities in 2023
In 2023, our publication output reached new heights, with over 200 reports, risk assessments, and analyses covering diverse issues and topics related to the Eurasian strategic landscape. Notably, we published four volumes and two special issues of our magazine, Geopolitical Report 2532-845X.
Our relentless investigation and monitoring efforts focused on pivotal geopolitical events. We delved into the Ukraine conflict, scrutinising its impact on Eurasian geopolitics and security dynamics. We gave special attention to volunteer battalions from the post-Soviet space involved in the conflict.
Our organisation meticulously monitored and analysed two of the main events in the Eurasian geopolitical chessboard such as the Azerbaijani military offensive against Nagorno-Karabakh/Artsakh and the resulting humanitarian crisis, as well as the Middle East situation following Hamas’ offensive against Israel and Tel Aviv’s military operation in the Gaza Strip.
SpecialEurasia proudly formalised two new editorial and investigative projects, namely the Persian Files ISSN 2975-0598 and Kavkaz Files ISSN 2975-0474. These initiatives aim to unravel the complexities of the Persian Gulf region and the Caucasus, respectively, providing nuanced analyses and comprehensive reports.
Our commitment to keeping our audience informed remains steadfast. The Geopolitical Report ISSN 2785-2598, Persian Files ISSN 2975-0598, and Kavkaz Files ISSN 2975-0474 are integral parts of our Monitoring & Analysis section, offering diverse perspectives on critical geopolitical issues. Additionally, we inaugurated our infographic and interactive Maps section, recognising the significance of visual aids in geopolitics.
Official Visits Abroad & Training Courses
International engagements played a pivotal role in expanding our network. Noteworthy visits included official trips to Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation’s Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, the Republic of Abkhazia, and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In Kazakhstan, we witnessed the local parliamentary elections in March 2023 and attended the Astana International Forum in June 2023.
In the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, SpecialEurasia joined the Forum of the Indigenous People of the Russian Federation organised in Cherkessk, visited the touristic complex Arkhyz, and met with local representatives to study the ongoing situation in the region.
After visiting the Russian North Caucasus, our team paid an official travel to the Republic of Abkhazia to meet representatives of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, local politicians, members of the local Muslim umma (community), and, therefore, investigate the Abkhaz dynamics.
The visit in the Islamic Republic of Iran allowed SpecialEurasia to attend an international forum on digital journalism and women and visit some of the local special economic zones which Tehran established to improve the economic conditions and link the country to foreign markets.
Our Training & Courses activities continue to be an essential component, providing one-to-one courses in Geopolitical Intelligence Analysis and Webint & Open Source Intelligence. Our commitment is to expand these courses by adopting different training formulas and allow more participants to become proficient in geopolitical intelligence, web intelligence (Webint) and open source intelligence (OSINT).
