In today’s information-driven landscape, the ability to conduct structured, methodologically sound Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) investigations is a critical professional asset.
SpecialEurasia organises an online group course in OSINT on Saturday, 23 May 2026 (09:00 – 13:00 CET) to help individuals who want to go beyond basic searching and develop the analytical discipline required to operate confidently and independently within the OSINT field.
Over four focused hours, participants will gain a solid grounding in the fundamentals of Intelligence Analysis and OSINT, while learning how to build a sustainable, adaptable investigative workflow.
A key emphasis of the training is developing the capability to work without relying solely on pre‑configured platforms. Instead, participants will learn how to recreate their own investigative environment, select appropriate tools, and design an online investigation tailored to specific targets and operational needs.
A dedicated section of the course will also introduce the use of virtual machines and operating systems specifically designed for OSINT work. Participants will understand how these environments support secure, compartmentalised and methodical investigations, and how to integrate them into their own professional practice.
Course Programme
Module 1 – Foundations of Intelligence Analysis. Understand the principles and frameworks underpinning modern intelligence work. Learn how analytical thinking, structured methodologies, and critical evaluation form the basis of effective OSINT operations.
Module 2 – OSINT Fundamentals and Methodology. Explore the essential concepts of Open Source Intelligence, including collection strategies, verification techniques, and ethical considerations. Gain the ability to design investigations that align with specific intelligence objectives.
Module 3 – Building Your Investigative Environment. Develop the skills to create and customise your own OSINT workspace. Learn how to operate independently of pre‑configured platforms by assembling a flexible, secure, and efficient investigative setup.
Module 4 – Virtual Machines and OSINT Operating Systems. Discover how to use virtual machines and specialised operating systems designed for OSINT. Understand how these tools enhance security, compartmentalisation, and investigative precision.
Module 5 – Tools and Techniques for Targeted Investigations. Master the process of identifying, selecting, and validating the right tools for different investigative targets — from individuals and organisations to digital infrastructures and online communities.
Module 6 – Searching and Updating the Analyst Tools. Learn how to continuously refine and expand your OSINT toolkit. Understand how to search for emerging tools, evaluate their reliability, and integrate updates into your investigative environment to maintain operational effectiveness and adaptability.
